Geraldine B. "Gerry" Bales was born on July 11, 1920 in Wilburton, Oklahoma to Noah Secrest & Mary Ellen (O'Donnell) Secrest. She passed from this life on September 30, 2009 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, 2months & 19 days.

"Gerry" had lived in the Broken Arrow community for several years and had worked as a school district secretary for many years before her retirement. In addition, she was also an avid and successful real estate investor.

She married Kenneth Bales on June 19, 1942 in Holdenville, Oklahoma and after almost 59 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on March 15, 2001. She was also preceded by 2 brothers; Glenn & Gale Secrest.

She is survived by 1 daughter; Cheryl Simons of Broken Arrow, 2 sons; Terry Bales of Diamond Bar, California & Lee Bales of Sugarland, Texas, 7 grandchildren; Scott Bales, Kim Perry, Bobby Bales, Brett Bales, Kenneth Bales, Matthew Simons & Danielle Simons, 6 great-grandchildren; Brianna & Brittany Bales, Blake, Alexandria & Evan Bales and Aaron Bales, 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Casket bearers are Kenneth Bales, Robert Bales, Matthew Simons, Scott Bales, Lee Bales & Terry Bales.
