EUNICE D. BERKLEY
Eunice Dorothy (Fleetwood) Berkley, fondly known as "BB", was born on August 26, 1922 in Bixby, Oklahoma to George & Etta (Shanafelt) Fleetwood. She passed from this life on Friday, September 7, 2007 at her home in Sperry, Oklahoma after a long illness and while in the loving care of her grandson Brad Wood, at the age of 85 years and 12 days.
"BB" was loved very much and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She loved all children and made them a big part of her life participating in their ball games, fishing, dancing and she especially loved putting puzzles together with them. For many years, she was the backbone of family get-togethers and will be remembered for her love of all children. Until her illness, all sporting events were her major enjoyment on television. She could tell you what all the scores were and who was on what team and which ones could play and could not play. She loved the Dallas Cowboys and the OU Sooners. She was a founding member of Golden Hills Baptist Church, now known as First Baptist Church of Turley. She was the secretary there for many years. She loved gospel music and anything sung by Alan Jackson but especially the old gospel songs. She spent many happy years working for Frougs Dept. store in the men's dept., retiring after twenty years. She then worked for ten years in concession sales in the Tulsa Airport. "BB" helped raise many children, and even though in life she had none of her own, she was always known as mom and grandma to the Steve Wood family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Thomas Berkley in 1985, 3 brothers; Sherman, Jeff & Acy Fleetwood and 2 sisters; Mary Janes & Floss Bennett.
She is survived by 1 sister; Jackie Bush of Mounds, OK, 1 sister-in-law; Nellie Cotner of Liberty Mounds, 1 grandson; Brad Wood of Tulsa, 1 son and his family; Steve, Cheryl, Brooke & Jennifer Wood of Gillette, WY, Mariaetta McGuire of Sapulpa, OK, David Woods of Mounds, OK, Melody, Dieadra & Teryn Florence of Oklahoma City, a dear friend; Alma Butler and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Casket bearers were Brad Wood, Steve Wood, David Woods, Dean Miller, Richie Fleetwood & John Walters.
