BETTY BETHEL

Betty Joyce Bethel was born on October 9, 1942 in Pottsville, Arkansas to Fay O. & Lois Louada (Clemons) Judkins. She passed from this life on August 10, 2008 at her home in Beggs, Oklahoma at the age of 65 years, 10 months & 1 day.

Betty came to this area as a young girl and was a member of the Glenpool High School graduating class of 1960. She worked over 30 years for St. Francis Hospital before retiring in 2002. She worshipped her Lord and served her church as a pastor's wife at Sonrise Community Church. She will always be remembered for her loves of playing the piano and singing. She began a long ministry of visiting nursing homes in 1982 and from that beginning, the Glory River Singers was formed in 1986 and they continue to sing and play at nursing homes in the area every week.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 45 years, Pastor Bill Bethel whom she married on April 26, 1963 at the Duck Creek Church in Liberty Mounds. She is also survived by 1 son; Bill D. Bethel and wife Tina, of Liberty Mounds, 1 daughter; Michelle Hill and husband Warren, of Glenpool, 3 sisters; Evelyn Milford and husband Paul, of Springfield, Missouri, Loveta Ennis of Nuyaka & Barbara Davis of Glenpool, 5 grandchildren; Jennifer Smith and husband Kyle, Jessica Bethel, Janelle Bethel, Kaylie Hill & Amy Hill as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister; Jeanie Judkins and 4 brothers-in-law; Ray Davis, Bob Davis, Ray Rush & Jim Ennis.

Casket bearers were Bill D. Bethel, Warren Hill, Kyle Smith, Steve Ennis, Darrell Atwell & Josh Atwell. Music was led by the Glory River Singers.
