Billy Ray Brashears was born on September 15, 1935 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Raymond Henry and Mary Helen Forney Brashears. He passed from this life on November 25, 2007 in Bixby, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years, 2 months & 10 days.

Billy married Sharon Bailey Brashears on May 31, 1958. They enjoyed over 49 years of marriage. He was proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Air National Guard. He served in active duty during the Berlin and Cuban Crisis. Billy was an avid O.U. fan of over 59 years. He loved sports and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play in their various sports. Billy was an electrical contractor in and around the Tulsa area for 33 years. His family will remember him for his love, support, and steadfast commitment to them.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by 3 children: Raymond Brashears of Depew, Aaron Brashears of Jenks, and Lynnette, and husband Pete Mefford of Bixby. Billy is also survived by 2 brothers: Gene Brashears of Dewey, LeRoy Brashears of Tulsa, 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He, will be deeply missed, by those who loved him.
