Elsie Lee Cosby Brixey
Elsie Lee Cosby Brixey was born on May 21, 1915 in Yonkers, Oklahoma to Andrew Jessie & Ida Mae (Sewell) Cosby. She passed from this life on December 30, 2006 in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years, 7 months & 9 days.
Elsie grew up in the Wagoner community then moved to Glenpool, where she lived for over 50 years. She moved back to Wagoner about four years ago to be near her son. Her working years were spent with the Banfield Meat Co., Oral Roberts University, the Pepsi Company and for several years as a nurses aide. She was a member of the Faith Free Will Baptist Church and also attended the First Grace Church. She loved gospel singing and was a part of the Glory River Singers for many years. She will be warmly remembered for her love and devotion to her family and for the many beautiful hats she always loved to wear.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Brixey in June, 1947, 2 sons; Frankie in January, 1975 and Curtis Wayne in July, 1997, a grandson; Barry in 1978 and 7 siblings. She is survived by 1 son; Larry Brixey and wife Polly, of Wagoner, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Casket bearers were Brandon Brixey, Charlie Brixey, Mike Brixey, Kyle Burkett, Nate Lykins, Jay Lykins & Brian Ray. Music was provided by the Glory River Singers.
