Grace Buchanan was born on December 23, 1910 in Harvey, Arkansas to Tom & Mayetta Kilburn. She passed from this life on August 31, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 95 years, 8 months & 8 days.

Grace came to the Bixby community as an 18 year old girl with her family and had made her home here for the remainder of her life. While her family warmly remembers her as a devoted and loving homemaker, she also worked several years and retired from the Bixby Public Schools where she worked in the cafeteria. She was a member of the Faith Temple Assembly Church and was very active for many years in the Bixby Senior Citizens Center. Some of her favorite activities included fishing, playing dominos & bingo.

She married Gussy H. Buchanan in 1933 in the middle of a road along the Creek County line. He preceded her in death on April 21, 1977. She was also preceded by 2 infant children; Barbara & Gerald, 3 sisters; Thelma James, Ruby Miller & Georgia Lowe-James and 1 brother; Ferrell Kilburn. She is survived by 2 daughters; Katherine Kent and husband Jim, of Tulsa & Helen Fischer and husband Bob, of Bixby, 1 son; Vernon Buchanan and wife Isis, of Owasso, 4 grandchildren, Shelly Kent, Jamie Holloway, Steven Buchanan & Marilyn Heape, 7 great-grandchildren; John Wesley Jarvis, Kyle Jarvis, Keaton Westfall, Kristin Westfall, Adam Holloway, Tyler Heape & Tanner Heape, 1 great-great-grandson; Jace Jarvis and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
