Betty Ruth Cameron was born on September 2, 1927 in Alma, Oklahoma to Jewel Otto Colvin and Nancy Anne (Wright) Colvin. She passed from this life on June 1, 2009 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years, 8 months & 30 days.

Betty was a graduate of Oklahoma University and received her teaching certification from Central State University. She was a teacher for the Putnam City High School for many years. After her retirement from teaching, she and her husband had lived in Muskogee for several years and had recently moved to the Jenks community.

She is survived by her loving husband John G. Cameron, whom she married on April 8, 1950 in Alma, OK. She is also survived by 4 daughters; Judy Henderson and husband Mike, of Monet, MO, Deborah Jones and husband Ricci, of Edmond, OK, Anna Cameron and husband R.L., of Tulsa & Susan Phillips and husband Cliff, of Oklahoma City. 9 grandchildren; Jay Cavnar, Jeff Cavnar, Matthew Jones, Elizabeth Goree, Lindsay Haley, John O'Leary, Andrew Jones, Cameron Phillips & Caitlyn Phillips, 8 great-grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother; James Colvin & 1 sister; Nancy Lowrance.

Casket bearers are Ricci Jones, Michael Henderson, R.L. Hilbun, Cliff Phillips, Matthew Jones, Andrew Jones & Jeff Cavnar. Honorary bearers are Jay Cavnar & John O'Leary.
