CHARLENE I. CLAY
Charlene Icle Clay was born on September 22, 1935 in Liberty Mounds, Oklahoma to William Ray Christian and Icle Vida (Ketchum) Christian. She passed from this life on March 20, 2009 in Glenpool, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years, 5 months & 26 days.
Charlene had lived in the Liberty Mounds community virtually all of her life. She worked many years ago at the Tulsa Stock Yards, then for 12 years at the Liberty School and later for the Cottom Veterinary Clinic. She worshipped at the Duck Creek Free Will Baptist Church. She was very involved in genealogy and also loved sewing and reading.
She married James Clay on June 10, 1955 in Liberty Mounds. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1983. She was also preceded by her parents and 1 sister; Wanda Exendine.
Charlene is survived by 3 sons; Johnny Clay of Mounds, Randy Clay of Glenpool & Charlie Clay of Mounds, 1 sister; Linda Lopez of Haskell, 2 brothers; Donnie Christian of Liberty Mounds & Mike Christian of Manhattan, Kansas, 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Casket bearers were Jonathan Clay, Kevin Clay, Travis Clay, Tyler Clay, Modesto Garcia & Dan Garcia. Honorary bearers were the grandchildren. Music was provided by Brigida Clay, Chelsea Clay, Matt Williams & Michelle Ogilvie.
