GLEN L. COBURN, JR.
Glen L. Coburn, Jr. was born on August 11, 1932 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Glen L. Coburn, Sr. & Aletha LaDena (Cole) Coburn. He passed from this life on May 23, 2009 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years, 9 months & 12 days.
Glen was a graduate of Tulsa Central High School. He was proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked many years as an insurance inspector for the Hooper-Holmes Co. He was a longtime member of the South Tulsa Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher and worked with the Children's Choir and had also been assisting the music program at the Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a proud member of the N.R.A. and the Heritage Foundation. He loved photography and even had his own dark room. He also loved gardening, painting, southwestern art, leather work, reading as well as learning and teaching history.
He is survived by his loving wife Marsha Ann (Wilks) Coburn, whom he married on August 5, 1962 in Miami, Oklahoma. He is also survived by 1 son; Dr. Phillip Stephen Coburn of Oklahoma City and his fiance' Lara Wells of Tulsa, 4 daughters; Debby Endris and husband Ken, of Hooks, TX, Pam Riddle and husband Ron, of Hooks, TX, Sandy Moser and husband Wendel, of Denison, TX & Caroline Coburn of Tulsa, 1 brother; David Current and wife Mary, of Tulsa, 1 sister; Dena Burdick and husband Howard, of Talala, OK, 20 grandchildren; Mindy, Cindy, Lauren, Amanda, Jennifer, Rebecca, Earl, Kayla, Kathryn, Krystal, Keri, Tyler, Angela, Krissy, David, Elizabeth, Katherine, Madeline, Alan & Kent, 20 great-grandchildren; Trent, Hailey, Jaidyn, Madison, Maya, Melik, Myles, Dylan, Alex, Felicia, Kale, Taylor, Madi, Hylari, Blake, Bryndalynn, Bayleigh, Hanna, Skyler & Belle.
Music was provided by Pastor Tracy Megli. Honorary casket bearers were Dr. Phillip Coburn, Bruce Edge, David Current, Charles Jefferson, Earl Jenkins, David Wells, Scott Current, Bill Current & David Wilks.
