Dee Cottom was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Clement V. Cottom, Jr. and Cleo (Shackleford) Cottom. She passed from this life on April 8, 2008 in Liberty Mounds, Oklahoma.

Dee grew up in the Liberty community and graduated from Liberty High School. She attended Oklahoma State University and was proud to be one of their greatest supporters. She had lived in the Morrison community for the past 20 years where she worked as a manager for Consumer's IGA. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Morrison and was also active in the Morrison Community Development Association.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Cleo and her grandparents Cottom and Shackleford. She is survived by her father; Dr. Clem Cottom, Jr. of Bixby, 2 sisters; Vicki Cottom Linker of Liberty & Sandi Cottom of Choctaw, OK, 2 brothers; Chet Cottom and wife DeAnn, of Liberty & Jerry Cottom and wife Cheryl, of Morrison, 8 nieces & nephews; Nikki Epperson and husband Dusty, of Bixby, Dustin Cottom and wife Becky of Locust Grove, Jerod Cottom of Morrison, Kelsey Cottom of Morrison, Colby Cottom of Liberty & Cacey Cottom of Liberty, 4 great-nieces & nephews; Lane, Destin & Colton of Bixby and Chloe of Locust Grove and several other relatives and good friends.

Casket bearers were Jason Brake, Travis Brake, Terry Scarbrough, Mark Harnley, Steve Watts, Terry Carris, Tony Mize, Gary Wilson & David Harris.
