Ila V. Cox

Ila V. Cox was born on March 31, 1917 near Dover, Arkansas to B.B. & Ethel (Devine) Bullock. She passed from this life on March 1, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 88.

Ila came to this area with her family as a young girl. She married Monsey Cox in 1933 and was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She attended church at the Mounds Methodist Church and was a member of the Home Demonstrations Club for many years. She always loved to sew and had made wedding dresses for many family members and friends over the years. She also taught a great number of people the art of sewing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Monsey in 1970 as well as by a daughter; Doris L. Sanders-Lance, a son; Richard Lawrence Cox, 5 brothers; Bill, Wayne, Doyle, John Ewin & W.G. Bullock and an infant sister. She is survived by 2 sons; Derrell Cox and his wife Paula & Rex Cox and his wife Joanne, all of Bixby, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Casket bearers were Matthew Cox, Michael Cox, John Cox. Richard Cox, Tim Cox & Christopher Cox. Music was provided by Cindy Foster, Kim Earp & Terry DeBolt.
