ROBERT CARLTON DANFORTH
Robert Carlton Danforth was born on March 14, 1937 in Brockton, Massachusetts to Clarence & Alice (Cook) Danforth. He passed from this life on April 29, 2008 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years, 1 month & 15 days.
Robert served his country for 20 years as a member of the United States Army where he served in Vietnam and received many decorations and commendations such as the Purple Heart, a Silver Star and 2 Bronze Stars. After his retirement from the military he worked as a building engineer for St. Francis Hospital until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of the Mounds First Baptist Church and also was affiliated with the Eastern Oklahoma Woodcarvers Assoc. He was especially devoted to his family and also loved being outdoors and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother; William and 3 sisters; Mildred, Barbara & Virginia. He is survived by his loving wife; Pollyanna (Sheppard) Danforth whom he married on September 7, 1974 in Oaks, OK as well as by 2 sons; Jim Danforth and wife Christina, of Mounds & David Danforth of Oklahoma City, 1 daughter; Breanna Danforth of Tulsa, 4 grandchildren; Carlton, Corban, Canaan & Elizabeth and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
