Helen G. Dotson was born on July 1, 1933 in Leonard, Oklahoma to Henry Evert & Inez Myrtle (Shanks) York. She passed from this life on November 24, 2007 in Issaquah, Washington at the age of 74 years, 4 months & 23 days.

Helen was a longtime resident of the Leonard community and had moved to the Seattle area in 2006 to be near her family. She worked outside the home for 35 years before retiring on February 19, 1987. After her retirement, she worked 18 months for the Bixby Senior Citizens Center and also volunteered at the nursing home and visited those that were homebound. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and taught a Women's Sunday School class. Her gentle spirit and ready smile will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She married Billy H. Dotson on June 4, 1983 at Christ United Methodist Church in Tulsa. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1989. She was also preceded by her parents. She is survived by 1 daughter; Sheri Denise Jacobson and husband Russell, of Sammamish, Washington, 2 grandchildren; Denise Gonzalez-Walker and husband Vince & Brack Daniel Jacobson and wife Jennifer all of the Seattle area, 3 great-grandchildren; D'Angelo Gonzalez, Trey Daniel Jacobson & Vienna Walker, 3 sisters; Jeweldean Moore of Leonard, Linda Joy Johnson and husband Floy, of Bixby & Karen Kay Otto and husband Charles, of Beggs, 1 brother; Roy Everett York and wife Vera, of Tulsa and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Casket bearers were Scott Hargis, Mike Otto, Jason Otto, Aaron Daniels, Drew Moore & Michael Harrison. Music was provided by Donna Gibson & Mel Fergeson.
