Irene Bernice (Holiman) Ferguson was born on December 4, 1911 in Bluffton, Arkansas to Cecil Holiman & Ethel (Lazenby) Holiman. She passed from this life on January 24, 2009 in Bixby, Oklahoma the age of 97 years, 1 month & 20 days.

Irene married George Ferguson on July 8, 1931. They moved to Leonard, Oklahoma where they farmed and ran a small general store and gas station called Ferguson's Grocery for over 22 years. Their son, George Ronald, was born in 1940. Irene was a much loved citizen of the community and tireless member of the Leonard Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her son, George Ronald and her husband, George as well as brothers; Cleat, John & Hogan and sisters; Irmine & Erma Lee. She is survived by 1 sister; Mary Stewart and husband Herbert, of Hannibal, MO, 2 brothers; Homer Bruce and wife Geneva, of Chattanooga, TN & Ralph Lynn of Kansas City, MO, 1 sister-in-law; Ova Holiman of Bixby, as well as several nieces & nephews including Beverly Holiman of Bixby and Myrna Campbell of Tulsa and many loving friends who will miss her dearly.
