CLARA GLENDENING
Clara Glendening was born on September 30, 1922 in Stigler, Oklahoma to Virgil Bryant & Ida (McGuire) Bryant. She passed from this life on February 12, 2009 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years, 4 months & 13 days.
Clara was a longtime resident of the Stigler community and had lived in Bixby since 1988. She worked during her lifetime as a beautician and also as the co-owner of Superior Towel & Uniform. Her family will always remember her as a wonderful homemaker, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a great fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and an even bigger fan when she would attend her grandchildren's sporting events, especially Macy's. She was a dedicated servant to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and especially loved her role in the Field Ministry.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 62 years, Billy James Glendening, whom she married on July 24, 1946 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She is also survived by 1 daughter; C. Jane Naylor of Bixby, 2 sisters; Velma Merriman of Sapulpa & Elsie Monroe of Bixby, 2 grandchildren; Wendy Michelle Naylor & Nicole Elizabeth Harris and husband Rusty, 4 great-grandchildren; Macy D'Lynn Matheson, Brock Naylor, Hunter Harris & Bo Naylor and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son; Ted L. Merriman, 4 brothers; Lionel Bryant, Eugene Bryant, Clayton Bryant & Charley Bryant, 1 sister; Pearl Hefley, 1 grandson; Mark Christian Naylor and 1 great-grandson; Brycen Mark Harris.
Casket bearers were J.C. Stubbs, Paul Naylor, Galen Monroe & Mark Matheson.
