EUGENE "GENE" GREEN

Eugene "Gene" Green was born on April 1, 1927 in Bixby, Oklahoma to Roy J. Green and Ira (McClary) Green. He passed from this life on December 24, 2009 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 8 months & 23 days.

Gene had lived in the Bixby community virtually all of his life. He served his country as a member of the United States Army where he was stationed in Berlin, Germany and was also a member of the D.A.V. He was a well-known and respected businessman and founded Green Excavating which he operated for many years until turning the operations over to his family. He was a beloved member of the Shellenbarger Free Will Baptist Church and was recently honored for serving 54 years as a Deacon for the church. When he was not working, he loved fishing, hunting, vegetable gardening and spending time with his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters; Letha Hall & Leda Bolding.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 64 years, Norma Oda (Adams) Green whom he married on June 2, 1945 in Tulsa. He is also survived by 2 daughters; Barbara Sue Skaggs and husband Roy, of Bixby & Donna Gibson and husband Joe, of Leonard, 1 son; Jerry Green and wife Sandy, of Bixby, 1 sister; Verline McClatchey of Bixby, 8 grandchildren; Carla Barber, Joey D. Gibson, Billy Gibson, Regina Skelnare, Dawn Sherrill, Shawn Green, Josh Gibson & Jacob Gibson, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Music will be provided by Pat Cox and Billy Bird. Casket bearers are Joe D. Gibson, Billy Gibson, Josh Gibson, Jacob Gibson, Shawn Green & Kenneth Barber.
