LaVerna Hancock was born on November 22, 1937 in Glenpool, Oklahoma to Arthur W. Taylor and Alice Marie (Rideout) Taylor. She passed from this life on July 14, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years, 7 months & 22 days.

LaVerna had lived in this area for most of her life. She worked many years as the Head of Housekeeping for University Village and also had enjoyed working at Teresa's Tiny Tots daycare and in the Bakery Dept of Discount Foods in Glenpool. She loved music and playing the piano and was always especially devoted to her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister; Sondra Taylor.

She is survived by 3 sons; John Hancock of Granite, OK, Duane Hancock and wife Carlotta, of Mounds & Kelly Hancock and wife Eileen, of Wichita, KS, 2 daughters; Jamie Steinman of Bixby & Crystal Stailey and husband Kurt, of Springville, IN, her husband; James Hancock of Mannford, 1 brother; Wes Taylor and wife Rosemary, of Glenpool, 1 sister; Judy Hinshaw and husband Delbert, of Cushing, OK, 1 aunt; Opal Clark of Pryor, OK, 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.

Casket bearers are John Hancock, Jr., Keegan Holmes, Kyle Hancock, Brandon Henderson, Josh Hancock & Anthony Plunkett. Honorary bearers are Cody Wilemon & Wyatt Long.
