Lee Kenneth Hargrove
Lee Kenneth Hargrove was born on June 19, 1925 in Bloomington, Indiana to Dolph & Mary Catherine (Bumpers) Hargrove. He passed from this life on January 22, 2007 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years, 7 months & 3 days.
Kenneth was a longtime resident of the Jenks community. He was proud to have served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army stationed in Italy. He was retired from American Airlines after almost 37 years of service. He and his wife also owned and operated Payton's Grocery for many years. He served Jenks Public Schools as a board member for 10 years and was a long-standing member of the Jenks Masonic Lodge. He was an active member of the Jenks First United Methodist Church. His loving example and leadership will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by the love of his life; Betty Lou (Payton) Hargrove, whom he married on January 14, 1950 in Tulsa as well as by 4 sons; Russ of Tulsa, Kenny and wife D'Ann, of Jenks, Kevin and wife Julie, of Edmond & Brad and wife Ellen, of Tulsa, 6 grandchildren; Makenzi, Chandler, Hank, Wyatt, Claire & Ben, 1 brother; James Hargrove, 4 sisters; Dorothy Compton, Addie Spivey, Wanda Morton & Betty Sue Cook, several nieces & nephews and countless friends.
Music was provided by D'Ann Hargrove and the Engel family.
Casket bearers were Bob Steely, Roy Payton, Randy Payton, Joe Delacerda, Tim Hargrove, Larry Compton & Jim D. Marshall. Honorary bearers were Bob Sharp, John Gwartney, Jim R. Marshall, Lloyd Clifton, Ray Cundiff, Walt Hoehn, Bill Garbey, Robert Steely & Jack Ward.
