Roy G. "Jake" Harris was born on October 3, 1921 in Nashville, Wisconsin to James Richard Harris & Bertha (Sparks) Harris. He passed from this life on January 17, 2010 in Bixby, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years, 3 months & 14 days.

"Jake" had lived in the Liberty Mounds community since 1961. He was proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired steelworker and had worked many years for Ingersoll-Rand, Dresser-Rand and the Hale Co. He worshipped at the Hectorville Free Will Baptist Church until his health would no longer allow him to attend. When he was not working, he loved going fishing or hunting and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; Othella Mae "Bobbie" Harris on May 7, 1994 as well as by 1 sister; Dorothy Kassien and a grandson; Jeremy Atwell.

He is survived by 1 daughter; Carolyn Atwell and husband Danny, of Mounds, 3 sons; David Harris and wife Diana, of Coweta, Richard Harris of Hectorville & Tracy Harris and wife Linda, of Bixby, 4 grandchildren; Kelli McDonald, Kyle Atwell, Dustin Harris & Hunter Harris, 6 great-grandchildren; Dakota McDonald, Coleton McDonald, Wyatt Atwell, Morgan Atwell, Mollie Atwell & Kylie Atwell and several other relatives and friends.

Casket bearers are Richard Boyles, Christopher Boyles, Michael Scanlon, Carl Boyles, Elmer Ashford, Adam Sparks & William Boyles, Jr.
