RAY HELMS
Ray Helms was born on June 8, 1949 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Arvel Helms and Dorothy (Ross) Helms. He passed from this life on November 14, 2010 in Bixby, Oklahoma at the age of 61 years, 5 months & 6 days.
Ray had lived in the Bixby community for the past 37 years. He was an accomplished framing contractor and owner of the E.R. Helms Construction Company. He will be remembered as a very selfless, hard-working man that always had a heart of gold. He deeply loved his family and was especially devoted to his grandchildren. Some of his many passions in life were working on his classic cars and riding his Harleys.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 nephew; Jeff Stiles.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 40 years, Vonnie, whom he married on June 20, 1970 in Tulsa. He is also survived by 1 daughter; Sara Hensinger and husband Mat, of Bixby, 1 son; Duke Helms and wife Jennifer, of Broken Arrow, 1 sister; Susie Morgan of Vera, OK, 1 brother; Jim Helms of Bixby, 3 grandchildren; Logan Hensinger, Morgan Helms & Calie Helms, 4 nieces; Alison Cook, Heidi Brosette, Dion Schultz & Shannon Abbott and a very large group of great friends.
Casket bearers are Duke Helms, Mat Hensinger, Joe Goldesberry, Charlie Rambo, Chris Wirk, Pepper Campbell & Joe Park. Honorary bearers are a multitude of friends.
