JOSHUA WAYNE HONEYCUTT

Joshua Wayne Honeycutt received his golden angel wings August 22, 2007, at his home in Haskell OK with his closest family members by his side. He was born July 16, 1992, in Tulsa OK to Steve & Brenda Honeycutt.

Josh started martial arts at the age of 5. With his hard work and perseverance, he received his black belt in Tae Kwon Do at the age of 8. He went on to become a 2nd degree black belt by age 12, receiving many awards for his handwork. After martial arts, he went on to play soccer. He played fall and spring seasons, not caring what the weather was like.

Josh loved playing the trombone in music class under the direction of Mr. Ham at Allen Bowden. He had a special sound that all could hear. Not only did he enjoy playing the trombone, he loved chasing Bosco around the house and would get the best laugh out of it. After moving to a new school his freshman year, he made the basketball team and was so thrilled. He was able to play three games before his illness. Josh loved the time he spent with his cousin, Kenny, his "brother from another mother". Josh and Kenny had the best of times playing video games, poker, or riding four wheelers. Josh cherished the time with this Nan and Pops. He enjoyed the rides to the farm, fishing in the pond for "the big one" or eating Nan's famous chocolate cake. He was OSU's #1 fan. He would give mom a hard time when she would ask questions while watching a basketball game. Josh touched the lives of so many people during his brave and courageous battle with brain cancer. Joshua, you are the best son. Daddy will miss the secret handshakes, rides together in your blazer and watching movies together. Mommy will miss the times you loved to scare her so easily, blow kisses, and laughter you give her with the many silly things you did. Most of all, we will miss your smile, others will miss your warm heart. We know now you are in heaven and watching over us. We know you will welcome us with open arms one day. And that day cannot be soon enough. We believe God made you perfect and needed you in heaven before our time. We are so honored to be your parents.
