Jerry Wayne Hooper
Jerry Wayne Hooper was born on November 18, 1950 in Battle Creek, Michigan to James Hardiman & Ruth Evelyn (Smith) Hooper. He passed from this life on November 30, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, 12 days after his 56th birthday.
Jerry had lived in this area for over 30 years after moving here from Michigan. He was proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He worked for the Union Public Schools District as a Building Engineer. When he was not working, he loved trout fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and watching basketball. He loved the Lord very much and his family takes comfort that he has gone to be with his Savior.
He is survived by his loving wife; Debra (Clay) Hooper, whom he married on March 15, 2003 in Bull Shoals, Arkansas as well as by 3 sons; Peter Hooper, James Hooper and wife Nicole & Michael Hooper all of Broken Arrow, 1 daughter; Mary Willey and husband Robert, of Tulsa, 2 step-children; Steven Rains and wife Carrie, of Minot, North Dakota & Stephanie Rains of Liberty Mounds, 1 brother; Dale Hooper of Broken Arrow, 8 grandchildren; Matthew, Sean, Brianna Taylor, Makenzie, Alyssa, Tyler & Gracie, his in-laws; Frankie & Sue Clay and Juanita Wilson, a special niece; Madison Clay and several other family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister; Nancy Hooper.
Casket bearers were Peter Hooper, James Hooper, Michael Hooper, Steven Rains, Wayne Clay & Kasey Clay. Music was provided by Janice Brown, Kelli Clay & Jamie Hooper.
