GLEN R. HUDSON

Glen Redmond Hudson was born on May 30, 1915 west of Bixby, Oklahoma to Elbert Elisha (E.E.) and Fannie Lodusta (Willis) Hudson. He left this earth on May 21, 2010 after his bout with cancer at his home in Leonard, Oklahoma, just 10 days short of his 95th birthday.

Glen graduated from Bixby High School and attended Tulsa University. He was very accomplished with the trumpet and went through college on a band scholarship. Glen always said "he blew his way through college". This is also the time that he married Gracie Lucille Phillips on March 18, 1939 in Claremore. He graduated from T.U. with a Petroleum Engineering degree and went to work for the Ohio Oil Company that later became the Sohio Oil Co. He and Gracie traveled through parts of Wyoming, Illinois, Kansas, Colorado & Texas with his work. After about six years, they decided to move back to Oklahoma. Glen had a fleet lime truck and spread agricultural lime until 1950. He then purchased the family farm from his dad, Elbert and continued his life farming. He and Gracie built their home in Leonard and raised their two children, Dale & Glenda.

He was preceded in death by parents, 2 brothers: Albert "Buck" Hudson & Melvin Hudson and 1 sister; Cora Agnes Blagg.

Glen & Gracie had 71 wonderful years of marriage. He is survived by his loving wife, Gracie, 1 son; Dale E. Hudson and wife Carolyn of Welch, OK, 1 daughter; Glenda Simmons and husband Kenneth, of Leonard, 5 grandchildren; Brett Hudson of Leonard, Scott Hudson of Detroit, Michigan, Kristie Robinson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Crystal Wilborn of Bixby & Vickie Lynn of Bixby. Glen & Gracie have 9 great-grandchildren, their church family and too many friends to count.

The family requests donations be sent to the Leonard United Methodist Church building fund, P.O. Box 36, Leonard, OK 74043.
