C.W. "Pete" James

C.W. "Pete" James was born on August 5, 1921 in Blue Ball, Arkansas to Samuel Alfred & Bessie (White) James. He passed from this life on January 15, 2007 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years, 5 months & 10 days.

"Pete" was a retired longtime area concrete contractor. He was very proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II. During the war, he served in Germany and France as well as other locations. He was a member of the Shellenbarger Free Will Baptist Church. He served his community for several years as a member of the Bixby City Council. Some of his favorite activities included gardening, mowing lawns and going to the casino with his family.

He married Elsie James on November 3, 1962 in Miami, Oklahoma and after more than 43 years together, she preceded him in death on July 14, 2006. He was also preceded by 6 brothers; Ulyess, Amos, Siba, Cecil, Joyce & Odean James. He is survived by 3 daughters; Judy Sugg of Tulsa, Sharon Bradfield and husband Scott, of Edmond & Vicki Scarborough of Skiatook, 2 step-daughters; Mary Foster and husband Charley, of Rogers, AR & Lily Schumacher and husband Jacob, of Skiatook, 1 sister; Geraldine Holloway and husband David, of Portland, TX, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Casket bearers were Michael Hinkle, James May, Paul Holloway & Don Morris. Music was provided by Judy Sugg, Sharon Bradfield, Scott Bradfield & Laurinda Porter.
