BOB L. KETCHUM

Bob L. Ketchum was born on July 30, 1936 in Liberty Mounds, Oklahoma to Bill Ketchum and Jessie (Tuttle) Ketchum. He went home to be with the Lord on February 28, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years, 6 months & 29 days.

Bob attended the first grade at Falwell school and the following seven years at Liberty. In 1950, his family moved to Coweta where his father was pastoring the Shahan Free Will Baptist Church. He graduated high school at Coweta and it was also during this time that he met Ann Mahan, his wife of almost 56 years whom he married on April 17, 1954. The Lord blessed them with two children; Rob of Bixby and Leanne Cariker of Norman, five grandchildren; Mindy Wiggins of Owasso, Amber Cariker of Norman, Amanda Park of Tulsa, Avery & Adison Ketchum of Bixby. In addition, Bob is also survived by several other relatives, church family and good friends.

Bob received and accepted the call to the ministry during his teenage years, preaching his first sermon in May 1953 at Shahan. Shortly after ordination in 1955, he was asked to preach two Sundays each month at Duck Creek Church and twice monthly at Hitchita Free Will Baptist Church. His pastorates include Okmulgee, Cushing, Shady Grove in Tennessee, Central in Tulsa, Owasso and Grace North of Indian Springs, Broken Arrow. He served the Lord as founder, then pastor of Grace for 25 years. Failing health prevented him from being actively involved since that time. During his years of pastoring, he served the Free Will Baptist denomination in various positions. For several years he was a member of the Board of Trustees of Free Will Baptist College in Nashville, TN, his alma mater. He was selected to preach at the Free Will Baptist National Convention at Macon, GA in 1973. He also was privileged to serve the Oklahoma Free Will Baptists on several boards and committees during these years and two as moderator of the State Association.

Casket bearers are Gary Ketchum, Bryan Ketchum, Rick Ketchum, Chad Hughes, Eric Jones & Todd Jones. Music will be provided by Mindy & Jeff Wiggins.
