CHARLES D. KING
Charles D. King was born on January 18, 1942 in Whitney County, Kentucky to Dewey & Flora (Ross) King. He passed from this life on September 4, 2008 at his home in Bixby, Oklahoma at the age of 66 years, 7 months & 17 days.
Charles had worked as a Safety Engineer for the Ford Motor Co. U.A.W. Local #1895 for many years. He was very well respected by his fellow employees and will be dearly missed. He was a great fan of Nascar and also enjoyed traveling and going out to eat. He was a member of the Broken Arrow Elks Lodge. He will always be remembered in his neighborhood for the many days he would sit on his front porch and how he always loved talking to his neighbors.
He is survived by his loving wife, LaWanda King whom he married on July 11, 1980 in Tulsa as well as by 2 daughters; Terri Howell and husband Rodney, of Bixby & Candis King of Burlington, North Carolina, 1 son; Jeff King of Portland, Oregon, 1 step-son; John Bury of Coweta, 2 step-daughters; Mimi Jones & Debi Colon both of North Carolina, 6 brothers; Jonathan King, Abel King, Arvelee King, Boyd King, David King & Wayne King, 3 sisters; Joyce Reeder, Nola Douglas & Priscilla Fincher, 2 grandchildren; Brittney Dawn Howell & Justin Allen Howell, 2 step-grandsons; Greg & Michael Bury, 4 step-great-grandchildren; Jake, Tyler, Cole & Gracie Bury and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Geneva Marler & Lou Hackworth.
Casket bearers include Rodney Howell, John Bury, Jeff King, Michael Bury & Greg Bury.
