ROSEMARY LEWIS

Rosemary Lewis was born in Memphis, Texas on November 5, 1928. Due to complication from a fall she passed from this life on January 20, 2011.

She is survived by her son Stephen and his wife, Sherry Lewis, 1 granddaughter who lovingly called her "Grandmommy", April Paul and her husband, Brian and their children, Cameron and Tyler, 1 grandson, Bill who always loved her banana pudding and teased her by calling her "Dotta., 1 brother, Robert Smith of California, many nieces, nephews, brother and sisters in-law and numerous friends from her Red Bud Village family, Pioneer Village family, her Sunday School Class and all the members of Beaver Street Baptist Church and her beloved companion, Bubba, her doggie whom originally belonged to her son Jason.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Lorena (White) Smith, 10 of her 11 siblings, her husband of 53 years, O.J. Lewis, and their son Jason.

Rosemary was a gracious lady who loved her family, and always made a beautiful home for them. She was well known for being an amazing cook, especially her desserts. She loved making Christmas candy for all the family, her neighbors and her friends. Her boys spent many days with her delivering this candy to all the lucky ones who received it.

She loved to sew, and made draperies, napkins, placemats, and clothing for most who would ask. Her most unusual item was a quilt made from T-shirts. One of her favorite pastimes was reading. She also enjoyed listening to music, particularly gospel music. Most days if you were to visit her the music would be playing.

Rosemary and her sister Bette, were well known in Amarillo, Texas as the coupon queens. They would have their shopping days and visit many stores to be able to use all their coupons.

Rosemary stood 5"10"" and had beautiful white hair from a very young age. When she walked into a room, people always took notice because of her beauty. Her smile, gentle ways and the love that she showed all will be deeply missed.
