Dorothy Jean (Hipple) Lowman was born on August 29, 1929 in Tulsa, the second child of Jay & Hazel (Biel) Hipple. She passed from this life on December 24, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years, 4 months & 4 days.

Dorothy had lived in the Bixby community virtually all of her life. She attended Bixby schools and graduated in 1947. She hosted the annual class of 1947 anniversaries for several years. She worked early in life as a secretary for Skelly Oil and Tube Turns Piping but will be warmly remembered by those that love her as a very devoted homemaker, wife and mother. She served as an election board and civic club volunteer for many years and was very involved with many Bixby school activities while her children were in school.

She married her husband of over 64 years, Joe C. Lowman on October 20, 1946 in Bixby. She is also survived by 2 children; Cathey Sue Lowman and Joseph Michael Lowman and wife Shari, all of Bixby, 1 sister; Beverly Geller of Bixby, 2 granddaughters; Amber Anthony & Tina Geoffroy, 5 great-grandchildren; Noah & Liane Anthony, Elizabeth, Kaylie & Alexis Geoffroy as well as several other relatives and good friends.
