Billy Don McClain was born on August 14, 1926 in Leonard, Oklahoma to Ezra Elbert & Bessie J. (Ray) McClain. He passed from this life on August 19, 2007 at his home in Leonard, 5 days after his 81st birthday.

Bill was a member of the Bixby graduating class of 1946. He was proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Army. He worked all of his life as a farmer and also worked for 16 years at the Sunray DX refinery. Farming was always near to his heart and he loved spending time on his tractor. He also enjoyed duck hunting, playing basketball, football and watching any sport that his grandchildren were involved with.

He married Sarah (Childers) McClain on April 3, 1954 in Leonard and after more than 52 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on January 22, 2007. He was also preceded by 1 son; Larry McClain, 1 granddaughter; Gina Gruenwald, a brother; Jay McClain and a sister; Ollie Belle Robinson. He is survived by 2 daughters; Teresa Beene and Annie Gruenwald, both of Leonard, 1 brother; Glen McClain of Bixby, 3 sisters; Elector Morgan-Florence of Bixby, Ozella Holloway of Tatum, New Mexico & Myrtle Lea Willis of Bixby, 5 grandchildren; Billie Whitehead, Josh Gruenwald, Karrie Seawright, Sarah Osborn & Emily Osborn, 4 ½ great-grandchildren; Logan McClain, Kyle Whitehead, Marissa Seawright, Hailey Seawright and Gracelyn Gruenwald who is due to arrive in December as well several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
