AJean L. McElroy was born on September 5, 1922 in Des Moines, Iowa to Edwin & Gladys Lafferty. She passed from this life on January 27, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years, 4 months & 22 days.

Jean worked for the McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Co. during World War II. The family then moved to Coffeyville, Kansas for 3 years where she worked for the Continental Can Co. before they moved back to Bixby and she again worked at McDonnell-Douglas. When she was not working, she loved gardening and tending to her flowers.

She married Woodrow "Felch" McElroy on September 13, 1938 and after almost 57 years of marriage he preceded her in death on May 15, 1995. She was also preceded by 2 brothers, 1 sister, 3 half-sisters & 1 half-brother. She is survived by 3 sons; Jim McElroy and his wife Vicki, of Broken Arrow, Tom McElroy and his wife Ruby, of Bixby & Charles McElroy and his wife Barbara, of Tulsa, 1 brother; Jerry Lafferty of Newport Beach, VA, 9 grandchildren; Kimberly Hickman, Bud McElroy, Mary Daniels, Dena Dykstrahous, Rick McElroy, Debbie Noel, LaDonna Prince, Teresa Demeree & Ron Willhoite, 22 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Casket bearers were Dean McElroy, Frank McElroy, Bill Lewis, Gerald McElroy, James Marchant & James McElroy.
