ESTES McINTOSH

Estes McIntosh was born on December 28, 1913 in Stidham, Oklahoma to Lewis Pittman & Ollie Caroline (Estes) McIntosh. She passed from this life on January 1, 2011 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, 4 days after her 97th birthday.

"Grannie", as respectfully referred to by her family, was married to Cheesie McIntosh on April 15, 1933 in Stidham. If Grandpa had lived 41 more days, on April 15, 2007, they would have celebrated their 75th Wedding Anniversary. She attended church at Riverview Baptist Church as well as the Bemo Indian Church. Granny spent her life taking care of her family, with the exception of short times that she worked as an Avon representative and working for the Tulsa County Election Board. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting and when she got the chance, fishing with Grandpa.

When they were raising their family they lived in the Eufaula area, Dumas & Borger, TX, as well as several areas around Tulsa, finally retiring in their home in Bixby, OK. She had lived for over the past year in the home of her daughter & son-in-law, Becky & Gary Harris.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chessie McIntosh, daughter; Senora Nelson, son-in-law; Joe Bob Carr, 3 grandsons; Cheesie McIntosh III, Michael Dean Rogers & Sandy Carr, her parents, 2 sisters; Lucille Hallum & Ramona Johnson and 3 brothers; Bill Pittman, Lincoln Pittman & Langston Pittman.

She is survived by 1 son; Chessie, Jr. and wife Jerre, of Wagoner, OK, 3 daughters; Jeanetta Carr of Bixby, Betty Eash and husband James, of Broken Arrow & Becky Harris and husband Gary, of Tulsa, 2 sisters; Nadine Buck & Charlotte Turner, 1 brother; Glen Pittman and wife Eva, all from Eufaula, OK, 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Casket bearers are Donald Carr, Jr., Mark Allen Carr, Jeff McIntosh, Tracy Rogers Tim Rogers, Kendal Goodell, Gary Harris & James Eash.
