JAMES EDWARD McNAIR
James Edward McNair was born on March 30, 1916 in McComb, Oklahoma to James Edward McNair, Sr. & Annie May (Edwards) McNair. He passed from this life on July 24, 2009 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at the age of 93 years, 3 months & 24 days.
James had been a resident of the Broken Arrow community for the past 24 years after moving here from Wichita, Kansas. While in Kansas, he worked many years as a plant operator for Kansas Gas & Electric before his retirement in 1981. He was proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was a member of the St. Stevens United Methodist Church and also a member of the Coweta Masonic Lodge #51. He was an accomplished woodworker and also loved building and operating scale trains sets.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of almost 70 years, Allene Virginia McNair, whom he married on October 14, 1939 in Purcell, Oklahoma. He is also survived by 2 sons; Jimmy D. McNair and wife Marcia, of Bixby & David W. McNair and wife Linda, of Fenton, Missouri, 1 daughter; Carolyn Grundy and husband Robert, of Rowlett, Texas, 7 grandchildren; Robert Grundy, Jr., Jonna Harris, Cora Natale, Carolyn Wheeler, James I. McNair, Stephanie McNair & Christie Radford, 9 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Casket bearers are Aaron Radford, Kevin Natale, Robert Grundy, Brian Wheeler, Troy Harris, Trent Harris & James I. McNair. Music will be provided by David McNair.
