Jewell Irene Metz was born on August 3, 1930 in Bixby, Oklahoma to Elmer D. Jones & Mahyley (Taylor) Jones. She passed from this life on November 13, 2009 in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years, 3 months & 10 days.

Jewell had lived in the Muskogee community for the past 22 years after spending her younger years in the Bixby area. She worshipped the Lord as a member of the Pentecostal faith and always loved listening to gospel music. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and cooking when her health would allow her to.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin Metz on February 26, 1973, 1 daughter; Bonnie Van Horn, 1 grandson, 1 brother and 1 sister.

She is survived by 1 son; Robert Metz and wife Judy, of Salina, OK, 3 daughters; Betty Bluebird and husband Billy, of Locust Grove, OK, Barbara Duckworth of Muskogee & Ruby Widener and husband Roger, of Bixby, 1 brother; Jim Jones of Iola, Kansas, 1 sister; Shirley Tollette of Kiefer, OK, 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Casket bearers are Adam Metz, Brandon Widener, Alvin Widener, Ace Bluebird, Billy Bluebird & Galveston Bluebird.
