ELSIE L. MONROE

Elsie L. Monroe was born on June 2, 1936 in Stigler, Oklahoma to Virgil Bryant & Ida (McGuire) Bryant. She passed from this life on June 5, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, 3 days after her 74th birthday.

Elsie had moved to this area when she was 17 years old and had lived here virtually all of her adult lift. She helped her husband run their business for many years and will also be remembered as a wonderful homemaker. When she was not working, she loved to crochet and sew, going to craft shows and collecting dolls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 4 brothers and 1 granddaughter; Miranda Cherry.

She is survived by her loving husband, David L. Monroe whom she married on May 17, 1954 in Jenks, Oklahoma. She is also survived by 4 children; Randy Monroe of Oakhurst, Oklahoma, Deborah McCullough and husband Jim, of Bixby, Judy Cherry and husband David, of Booneville, Arkansas & Galen Monroe of Bixby, 1 sister; Velma Merriman of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Casket bearers are Randy Monroe, Galen Monroe, Jimmie McCullough, Justin McCullough, Jason McCullough & James Cherry.
