Lila Faye Morgan was born on May 6, 1931 in Nola, Arkansas to Alvin Harmon & Thelma (Kilburn) James. She passed from this life on May 31, 2008 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, 25 days after her 77th birthday.

Lila will be remembered as a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, homemaker and pastor's wife. She worked over the years for the Leonard Funeral Home, Citizens Security Bank and the Brassfield Grocery Store. She also spent many years as a substitute teacher for Tulsa Public Schools and as a school secretary. She was a member of the Bixby Free Will Baptist Church and the Free Will Baptist Women's Auxiliary. She was a very accomplished speaker for the Free Will Baptist Church on the local, state and national levels. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 58 years, Rev. J.C. Morgan whom she married on April 8, 1950 in Tulsa as well as by 3 daughters; Judy Atkins and husband Nick, of Chickasha, Kathy McClellan and husband Jerry, of Jenks & Sheila Sawyer of Bixby, 1 son; Mark Morgan and wife Raynette, of Tulsa, 3 sisters; Bonnie Hyams and husband Wayne, of Broken Arrow, Jackie Brummett and husband Bob, of Bixby & Edna Mae Bennett and husband Bill, of Sapulpa, 2 brothers; Tom James of Bixby & Leon James and wife Norma, of Bixby, 7 grandchildren; Jason Atkins, Travis Atkins, Brent McClellan, Brooke McClellan-Wing, James Sawyer, Matthew Morgan & Michael Morgan, 3 great-grandchildren; Haley Atkins, Bailey Morgan & Lindsey Morgan, extended family; Donnie, Doris, Joel & Ryan Summers and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and good friends.

Casket bearers were Brent McClellan, Travis Atkins, Jason Atkins, Curt Wing, Joel Summers, Ryan Summers, Donnie Summers & James Sawyer. Music was provided by Carol Spicer, Brenda Evans, Anita McCrary & Paul Allen.
