Clarence Merchant Morrison

Clarence Merchant Morrison was born on February 4, 1918 in Boone, Iowa to Boyd & Rena (Merchant) Morrison. He passed from this life on December 21, 2005 in Glenpool, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years, 10 months & 17 days.

Clarence had been an area resident for over 22 years after moving here from Pocahontas, Iowa. He was a United Methodist Pastor with the Iowa Methodist Conference from 1955 to 1983 and served on the staff of Asbury United Methodist Church from 1983 to 1990. He then worked for 11 years as a door greeter for the Wal-Mart store in Sapulpa. He was proud to be a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and was an avid reader of the bible as well as other spiritual books and spent a great deal of time in prayer. He also loved to read Sherlock Holmes mysteries.

He is survived by his loving wife, Esther Gene (Fenner) Morrison, whom he married on June 29, 1952 in Plainwell, Michigan as well as by 1 daughter; Anita L. Hoover of Glenpool, 1 brother; Harold Morrison of Fort Dodge, Iowa, 2 grandchildren; Jeremy D. Hoover and his wife Angela, of Lake Jackson, Texas & Rebecca A. Hoover of Glenpool, his great-granddaughter; Kahlea B. Hoover of Lake Jackson, Texas and several other family members, church family and good friends.
