QUINTON EUGENE "SONNY" NEAL
Quinton Eugene "Sonny" Neal was born on April 23, 1942 in Bixby, Oklahoma to John Lester & Lula Irene (Isaac) Neal. He passed from this life on May 10, 2008 in Tulsa, Oklahoma 17 days after his 66th birthday.
"Sonny" was proud to have served his country as a retired Sergeant for the United States Army. He served and was injured in Vietnam and received several different medals and decorations which included the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with 6 Bronze Service Stars, the Bronze Star with 1st and 2nd Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Air Medal and the MM Badge with M14 Rifle Bar. He was a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1189 and was a member of the Concharty United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers; Raymond Neal & John Neal, Jr. He is survived by 4 brothers; Albert Neal of Nowata, James Neal of Chickasha, Dean Neal of Haskell & Richard Neal of Haskell, 5 sisters; Ruth King of Haskell, Mary Schumacher of Chickasha, Rita Reddick of Okmulgee, Loretta Ridley of Chickasha & Dorothy Neal of Coweta as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Casket bearers were David King, Lorin Neal, Joe Neal, Monty Brown, Franklin Brown & Richard Neal. Honorary bearers were Dana Welsh, Edward Johnson, Larry Ziebarth & John Neal.
Military honors were provided courtesy of the Creek Nation Honor Guard.
