Senator Debbe Leftwich
Dear Brenda and family: I felt great sadness and loss for you all when I heard of Paul's passing. I did not know that he had been sick. Whenever I saw Paul on TV, I always had thoughts of when he did a commercial for my late husband Keith Leftwich when he first ran for the Senate in 1990. It was filmed in the parking lot at S.W. 59th & Western and we had some of our youngest son's schoolmates with us. My son remembers it well too. He graduated from S.E. High School as well. Keith thought a lot of Paul and I'm sure they're enjoying each others company right about now and that makes me smile. In time, I hope it will you too! My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Paul was an inspiration to so many as he "fought the good fight."
He finished strong and leaves a legacy for those who knew and loved him.

Emma was a classmate of my daughter's. I am very sorry for your loss and I hope you find peace in knowing that he gave so much to all of us in the community. Thank you for sharing him with us.

I was directing at the Jewel Box Theatre in OKC with my back to the main door when I noticed my group of actresses were batting their eyes and not looking at me. I turned to see this handsome man in a suit. I asked if I could help. He told me he was Paul Newsom from AT&T and wanted to buy some tickets for a promotion. I got the certificates and the ladies asked me to ask him if he acted (hoping he'd say yes and they could be in a play with him). He said yes and came to audition. I was lucky enough to have Paul in some Jewel Box's under my direction. Always gracious and fun, he sure made a director look good. Later I made a commercial for Paul's company. How lucky for me and the Jewel Box he walked in that night. To Brenda, Emma, and the families...you are in my/our thoughts and prayers!

Much love, Chuck Tweed

Mel & LaDonn Haworth
To all of the Newsom family,
So sorry to hear about Paul. He was such a fantastic man. We are so privileged that we both had the chance to go hunting with him as well as be a part of building his dream home. Never is there a time when I fry up a fresh batch of fish that Mel does not mention Paul's sautéed bass that he cooked for he and Sonny on a fishing trip. We know all of you will carry on his legacy in the outdoors just like he wanted and so will we.
Thinking of all of you,
Mel & LaDonna Haworth

Brenda - Nancy and I are so deeply saddened to hear about Paul. We have such fond memories of the two of you when we knew you both during the "early days" of your relationship here in OKC. Every time I would see Paul on TV in a commercial, I would think about you two and was so glad you all found each other. Even though we have not seen you all since those early years, we want you to know you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Paul was an amazing man and our hearts go out to you.
