J.D. OWEN

John Doyle Owen, Jr., or J.D. as most knew him, was born on May 15, 1940 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to John Doyle Owen and Marguerite Aline (Burkart) Owen. He passed from this life on February 17, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years, 8 months & 2 days.

J.D. had lived in this area since the 1980's. He was proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He was retired after working many years as a heavy equipment operating engineer and was a member of the Operating Engineers Union. He worshipped the Lord as a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church. When he was not working, he loved going to gospel singings, cutting wood, burning fires and mowing on his tractor.

He was preceded in death by his father, 1 son; James Dean Owen and an infant sister; Doyline.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 48 years, Beverly (Packer) Owen whom he married on October 20, 1961 in Van Nuys, California. He is also survived by his mother; Aline Campbell of Owasso, OK, 2 daughters; Glorianne Marie Clark of Rocky Mount, Missouri & Carol Lynne Carmen of Tulsa, 2 sons; John David Owen of Tulsa & Michael Dion Owen of Broken Arrow, 1 brother; James Ray Owen of Moorpark, California, 10 grandchildren; Maria Perron, Nathan Clark, Grace Clark, Lauren Clark, Carrissa Reed, Natalie Owen, Gabriel Owen, Jenessa Owen, Caulin Owen & Sharon Owen, 2 great-grandchildren; Elena Perron & Elizabeth Clark and 2 nieces; Shari Brown & Julie Tedder.

Music will be provided by Elaine Cates & Bill Scott. Casket bearers are Charles Clark, Nathan Clark, Jeremy Carmen, Eric Carmen, Jeff Perron & Ted Walker.
