MARCIA GAIL PAUL

Marcia Gail (Pardue) Paul was born on November 6, 1944 in Stockton, California to Homer Pardue and Lucille (Dancer) Pardue. She passed from this life on May 13, 2011 at her home in Glenpool, Oklahoma at the age of 66 years, 6 months & 7 days.

Marcia and her family moved to Boynton, Oklahoma when she was four years old where they purchased a ranch and began raising crops and cattle. She attended Boynton schools and graduated from Boynton High School. She attended Connors State College until she married her husband, Gerald Paul and they moved to Salina, Kansas where Gerald was stationed while serving in the United States Air Force. After his discharge from the military, they moved to Sand Springs where Marcia took a job at Hissom. She worked in the Education Department for eight years and it was during this time that she found her calling of working with children. Her career at Hissom was cut short due to an illness. She later took a position as a private live-in nanny for a local doctor in Tulsa. After about four years, they purchased a home in Glenpool and shortly thereafter, their only child, Tonya was born. Marcia opened her first licensed daycare in 1980. She was recognized many times over the years by the Department of Human Services for her outstanding home daycare. She was the first home daycare to be licensed for twelve children in Glenpool. Her daycare was the first in Glenpool to be rated a four star home by D.H.S. She organized and was President of the Glenpool Daycare Association. These honors did not compare though with the honor she felt while being loved by the children and appreciated by their parents. She enjoyed over 40 years providing loving care to every child that entered her home.

She is survived by her best friend and husband of 47 years, Gerald Paul, her only child Tonya (Paul) Johnson and husband Mike, her only grandchild; Noah Scott Johnson, 4 brothers; Ronnie, Gary, Steven & Willie Pardue as well as several other relatives and many good friends.
