Charles E. "Chuck" Pierce, Jr.

Charles E. "Chuck" Pierce, Jr. was born on April 13, 1925 in Matoaka, West Virginia. He passed from this life on March 27, 2007 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years, 11 months & 14 days.

In 1941, when he was 16, Chuck pretended to be 18 so he could join the Navy. He became a tail-gunner on a dive bomber and was aboard an aircraft carrier when it was struck by Japanese torpedoes while en route to Guadalcanal in September 1942. He was in the water for 13 hours before he was rescued. He was sent to a naval base in Purcell in 1943. There he met Betty Boyer, and they married on December 22, 1943. After his discharge, he worked for McDonnell Douglas and Sears. He then worked part time as a limousine driver and assistant funeral director and spent time on his ranch near Bristow. He was the patriarch of a local law enforcement family. His four sons, two grandchildren and a daughter-in-law have all been law enforcement officers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Pierce on April 14, 2001. He is survived by 4 sons; Eddie of Tulsa, Chris of Broken Arrow, Randy of Tulsa & Don of Broken Arrow, daughters-in-law; Lynn, Lana, Vickie, Darla, Kim, Ruth Ann & Jimmie, grandchildren; Eddie, Jeanne, Kourtney, Taylor, Trevor, Kailynn, Nicholas, Amy, Brett, Matt, Heather, Liz, Aaron, Molly, Zoe, Sterling, Jentri & Morgan, 1 great-grandson; Blake, 1 sister; Nadine Bland of Ft. Myers, FL, 2 nieces; Stacia & Cindy, 1 nephew; George, 2 brothers-in-law; Don Boyer and wife Sandee & Richard McConnell and several other relatives and many good friends.

Music was provided by Kailynn Jones & Willie Lewis. Casket bearers were Tony Shelton, Hastings Siegfried, Jack Pike, Randy Chapman, Eric Kitch, Frank Wilson, Rick Auten & Mike Marker.
