Lillian Holcomb Pirtle
Lillian Holcomb Pirtle was born on August 7, 1909 in Chillicothe, Texas to Edward & Hannah (Weaver) Holcomb. She passed from this life on December 11, 2007 at her home in Jenks, Oklahoma at the age of 98 years, 4 months & 4 days.
Lillian grew up in Oklahoma and was a graduate of the Kellyville High School. In 1946, she married Tom Pirtle in Tucson, Arizona and they shared many years together primarily in California. Lillian owned and operated a restaurant in California and co-owned an exterminating company with her husband. She also worked at Broadway's until her retirement and then took care of the bookkeeping and maintenance of the rental properties that she and Tom owned. She was an active member of the Emblem Club as well as the Eastern Star and the Women's Club of Culver City. Some of her favorite activities included cooking, sewing, craftwork and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tom on October 29, 1993 as well as by her 2 brothers; Houston & William Holcomb and 2 sisters; Ruth Price & Faye Cook. She is survived by 2 sisters; Stella Chancellor of Wichita, Kansas & Esthel Lee Spear of Bixby, Oklahoma and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
