Norman "Bub" Pruitt, Sr.
Norman "Bub" Pruitt, Sr. was born on March 7, 1936 in Hulbert, Oklahoma to Norman C. & Gladys L. (Black) Pruitt. He passed from this life on December 10, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 70 years, 9 months & 3 days.
"Bub" came to the Bixby community as a young man and had lived here for most of his life. He was proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Navy and was active in Navy reunions for many years. He was retired from American Airlines where he worked as a crew chief for 32 years, 3 months & 2 days. He loved to travel. He and Sandy have wintered in South Padre Island for the past several years and he always enjoyed picking up shells along the beach. He loved his family very much and will always be remembered for his ability to make people laugh and for being a big tease.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 50 years, Sandra S. (Cameron) Pruitt, 3 children; Teri Ladd and husband Bill, of Broken Arrow, Norm Pruitt and wife Patti, of Bixby & Rhonda Kerr and husband Marlin, of Owasso, 2 sisters; Tessie Voison of Escalon, California & Billie LaFerry of Haskell, 7 grandchildren; Daniel Ladd, Mindy Ladd, Tammy Lockwood and husband Derrick, Dana Singer and husband Jeremy, Pete Pruitt, Matt Kerr & Brooke Kerr, 3 great-grandchildren; Jacob & Allie Lockwood and Gracie Singer as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister; Veva Dell Stephens.
Casket bearers were Daniel Ladd, Norman Troy Pruitt III, Matt Kerr, Derrick Lockwood, Jeremy Singer & John Baikie. Honorary bearers were Herschel Edwards, Vernon Morgan, Alvis Houser, Paul Neafus, Ferrell Palmer & Morris Dale O'Hern. Music was provided by Cynthia Foster.
