VERNON RANDALL "RANDY" RILEY
Vernon Randal "Randy" Riley was born on April 23, 1959 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on November 14, 2010 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 51 years, 6 months & 22 days.
Randy was a graduate of Broken Arrow High School and had lived in Oklahoma City for the past several years. He was saved at the age of 14 and was baptized on April 29, 1973. He always loved God and his family very much. In his youth and as a young man, he loved playing softball, water skiing, going to hockey games, spending time with his family at Grand Lake and most of all, going to the stock car races and watching Nascar where he would cheer for his favorite driver #24, Jeff Gordon. Although Randy never had children, he always had dogs and they were just like his children. He always had a special bond with everyone's dogs. Each dog played a very special part in his life. If there was a dog on the streets, he would rescue it…if a friend or family member had a dog they could no longer keep, he would take it home and care for it. Randy was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, boyfriend and friend to many. He was the most caring and thoughtful person you would ever meet, always putting others first. He never met a stranger - everyone was his friend. Always smiling and telling jokes. He even once sold his truck to a friend for less than he owed on it just to help them out. When family came to town, he would always be there to see them no matter how badly he felt. He showed his true character four years ago when he became ill. He worked very hard to do all the right things the doctors asked of him and his family is very proud of how he handled such a difficult situation. He was loved by so many…more than he probably even realized. His body was worn out and tired this past year, God called him home so that he may now rest.
