DONALD E. "DON" ROARK

Donald E. "Don" Roark was born on December 28, 1924 in Stigler, Oklahoma to Walter Lee Roark & Carra Louise (Blaylock) Roark. He walked into the presence of Jesus on March 12, 2009 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years, 2 months & 13 days. He had been asked a few days before if he had a list of questions ready for the Lord. He replied, "No, when I get there I'm heading straight to the throne to praise the Father!"

He served in the United States Navy during WWII in the south Pacific. While on leave in Ada, OK, he met his bride-to-be and companion for life, Mary Frances "Betty" Sloan, as she served him from the drugstore soda fountain. They were married in 1947 and had five children in 38 years of marriage. Don was the same to everyone who knew him. You may have heard him singing from your rooftop or barking at a watching dog in some of the fifty years he roofed Tulsa houses. He loved his work. He never raised his voice in anger and never uttered a word a child couldn't hear. He served in his churches as teacher and deacon for many years. He was one of the few whose walk and talk always came out even. He had no advanced education, but he could discuss current world events or complex theology with any. He prayed unceasingly for his loved ones. He taught them the Word.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a sister, his wife, Betty, and a daughter, Donna. He is survived by son Mike and wife Liz Roark, Owasso, OK, son Tim and wife Barb Roark of Hutchinson, KS, son Randy and wife Martha Roark of Bixby, OK, daughter Penny and husband Alan Burkett, of Bedford, TX., and sister, Essie Roark of Ada, OK. He also awaits 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. You are our hero, Dad!

Casket bearers were Braden Burkett, Bret Burkett, Brock Burkett, Tanner Roark, Jeff Blomgren, Ryan Cooper & Ryan Payne. Music was provided by Cynthia Foster.

Memorials may be made to Clarehouse, 7324 E 49 Place, Tulsa, OK 74145.
