Helen L. Sanderson was born on December 8, 1932 in Canadian, Oklahoma to Tom Melvin & Grace Beatrice (Conner) Richardson. She passed from this life on March 19, 2007 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years, 3 months & 11 days.

Helen had been a resident of the Bixby and Tulsa areas for 25 years and the Stilwell community for over 30 years. She worked with her husband as the co-owner of a gospel church camp in the Stilwell area for many years. Along with her church work, she also enjoyed quilting, canning, working in the yard and going on "sister trips".

She married Edward Ruff Sanderson, Jr. on August 7, 1950 in Dallas, Texas. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2005. She was also preceded by 2 brothers; Earie Richardson and an infant brother, Tommy and 1 sister; Connie Olsen on March 10, 2007. She is survived by 2 daughters; Debbie Lewis and Tina Johnson both of Tulsa, 1 son; Richard Sanderson of Tulsa, 5 sisters; Mary Davis of Chelsea, Betty Casey of Tulsa, Annie Watkins of Liberty Mounds, Carol Heath of Kellyville & Lola Tolstad of Liberty Mounds, 2 brothers; Bill Richardson of Liberty Mounds & Bobby Richardson of Stilwell, 6 grandchildren; Shannon Perdue, Melissa Angel, Wendy Johnson, Richard Sanderson, Jr., Zackery Sanderson & Jake Skidmore, 3 great-grandchildren; Ty Angel, Harley Angel & Haley Johnson and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Casket bearers were Bud Alverson, Bob Tehee, Leroy Christie, Gary Terry, Mike Brown & Randy Brown.
