Lee R. Scanlon, Sr. was born on June 4, 1933 in Salem, West Virginia to John Sigg Scanlon and Viola R. (Ash) Scanlon. He passed from this life on January 21, 2011 at his home in Liberty Mounds, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years, 7 months & 17 days.

Lee was proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He retired from the Ingersoll-Rand Corporation. When he was not working, he enjoyed painting and crocheting.

He is survived by his wife Sammie J. (Boyles) Scanlon whom he married in 1955. He is also survived by 1 daughter; Teresa Cantwell of Liberty Mounds, 4 sons; Elmer Ashford of Liberty Mounds, John Scanlon of Jenks, Michael Lee Scanlon of Liberty Mounds & Lee Scanlon, Jr. of Bixby, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
