HELEN R. SHAW

Helen R. Shaw was born on September 17, 1925 in Brownwood, Texas to Dr. John Snyder and Virginia (Tomlinson) Snyder. She passed from this life on April 25, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years, 7 months & 8 days.

Helen had lived in the area since moving to Tulsa in 2003. She had previously lived in Oklahoma City and Duncan, OK. She had worked many years as a church secretary at All Saints Episcopal Church in Duncan and was a member of St. John's Episcopal in Oklahoma City. She was always very active in her church and prayer groups. In addition, she was an active volunteer for hospice organizations in Oklahoma City and was well known to volunteer at University Village. She loved to travel and had many fond memories of trips to Scotland, England & China. She was an avid reader and she loved to garden and spend time with her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Shaw on July 11, 1984 as well as by her sister, Virginia.

She is survived by 1 son; Brian Shaw and wife Paula, of Broken Arrow, 1 daughter; Ginnie Ishmael of Bixby, 3 grandchildren; Matthew Shaw of Stillwater, Kyle Shaw of Broken Arrow & Austin Ishmael of Bixby, 1 niece; Helen Wicker of Denver, CO, 2 nephews; Johnny Wicker of Austin, TX & Tommy Wicker of Belton, TX and many good friends.

Casket bearers are Brian Shaw, Matt Shaw, Kyle Shaw, Austin Ishmael & Stan Deardeuff.
