Helen F. Shelton
Helen F. Shelton was born on October 13, 1932 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to Clifford & Opal (Combs) Hewitt. She passed from this life on January 5, 2007 in Owasso, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years, 2 months & 23 days.
Helen had lived in the Sapulpa community for many years. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted homemaker that was especially fond of her grandchildren. She was an excellent seamstress and always enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting. She was a longtime member of the Free Will Baptist Church and was affiliated with the Lighthouse Fellowship in Sapulpa. She was an avid traveler and could be ready to go on a trip at any time and she always loved shopping, especially on the QVC Shopping Network.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald B. Shelton on September 22, 2002, 5 brothers; Howard, Benny, Gordon, David & Layman and 1 grandson; Jamie Wallace. She is survived by 6 children; Dorene Stockton of Glenpool, "Skeeter" Williams of Owasso, Donald Yocum of Sapulpa, Robert Yocum of Llano, California, Katie Yocum & Susie Yocum both of Farmington, New Mexico, 1 sister; Mary Ann Seago of Liberty Mounds, 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Casket bearers were Darrell Stockton, Derrick Stockton, Donald Yocum III, Cody Yocum, Kyle Yocum & Justin Williams.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Local Hospice in Owasso, OK.
