John Robert Toner, Jr. was born on September 5, 1938 in Martinez, California. His parents were John Robert Toner, Sr. and Louise Murray Toner. He passed from this life on November 21, 2007 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years, 2 months & 16 days.

John was a longtime resident of the Coweta community. He was proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He was a retired machinist after working many years for the North American Carbide Co. Some of his favorite activities included writing poetry and novels as well as watching poker on television.

He married Lula Belle Wilmott on June 2, 1962 and after almost 40 years together in the house that both of them helped build, she preceded him in death on January 24, 2002. He is survived by several in-laws; Harold & Patsy Wilmott of Jenks, Jack & Jane Wilmott of Glenpool, Scott & Nancy Wilmott of Kiefer and Loretta Ramey of Mounds as well as several other relatives and friends.
